The charity race «Day 557: Lviv Unbroken Half Marathon 2023» (hereinafter – the Race) is held to motivate amateur athletes to keep in shape, as well as to raise funds – 50% of the profit from the project will be donated to the “Unbroken” charity fund, a project of the National rehabilitation center.

The National Rehabilitation Center “Unbroken” is a unique place where adults and children affected by the war receive comprehensive qualified medical care. These are emergency medical care, reconstructive surgery, orthopedics, and robotic prosthetics. The prostheses are not only fitted but also made here. The Center also deals with the physical, psychological, and psychosocial rehabilitation of injured military personnel and civilians. Assistance to patients is provided free of charge.

The NGO “Run Ukraine” serves as the Race Organizer.

Under the patronage of

• The Department for the Youth and Sports of the Lviv City Council.

The Race Organizer forms the Organizing Committee from among its staff and invites branch-specific experts from various types of sports.

The Organizing Committee includes

• Lviv City Mayor, Sadovyi A.I. – the Head of the Organizing Committee;
• Race Director, Tretiakov I.O.;
• President of the Athletics Federation for the Lviv region, Svyshch Ya.S.;
• Chief Judge of the Race, Pavlos R.M.;
• Medical Director of the Race, Permiakov P.V..

The starter packs will be distributed on September 02, 2023. The location is to be announced.

Please, notice! There will be no distribution of starter packs on September 03, 2023, the day of the race!

You must come to the Svobody Square 1 hour before your race to make sure you have enough time to change into your running clothes, leave your belongings in the luggage storage, find your starting block, and warm up.

The participants may be admitted to the Race upon presentation of the documents provided at the time of receipt of the starter pack.

• A starter letter printed out and signed by the participant (the starter letter is available in the participant’s personal profile or the email box after a successful payment)
• An ID document that confirms the age of a participant (required for all participants)

The 13-year-old participants (for the 5 km course) and the 15-year-old participants (for the 10 km course) are also required to present Parental (legal representative’s) consent for the participation of a minor participant in the races of 5 km and 10 km (Annex 2 or Annex 3 respectively).

All registered participants bear sole responsibility for their health and well-being regarding the race and confirm it by signing a corresponding statement.

Please, notice!

• A participant will not be given a starter pack and a race bib number if a participant fails to present an ID;
• The participant’s age is determined according to the NGO “Run Ukraine” Race Rules

TO THE ATTENTION OF ALL RACE PARTICIPANTS!

In the event of the announcement of an Air raid warning in the city of Lviv, the Race will be suspended (changes in the start schedule are possible). Continuation of the Race will be announced after all sirens clear  (but in any case, only during daylight hours).

If State Emergency Service issues a warning of possible significant deterioration of weather conditions in the region on the eve of or on the day of the Race or there is a threat to human life and health due to severe weather phenomena (including but not limited to earthquake, flood, hurricane, hail, cyclone, storm, lightning, other natural disasters), the Race Organizer reserves the right to take measures to ensure the safety of participants, audience, fans and all those who directly or indirectly participate in the Race.

The Race Organizing Committee has developed an internal safety scale, according to which, in case of severe weather phenomena, the Organizing Committee will act in accordance with the plan and require all participants to strictly comply with its requirements, namely:

1st level of danger – wind with a force of 7-9 meters per second – the dismantling of inflatable arches, light structures (including mileage indicators), light awnings, promotional and photo zones.

2nd level of danger – wind with a force of 9.5-10 meters per second – the dismantling of all awnings and photo zones, as well as the dismantling of the crossbar of the start-finish arch.

The project manager will ask you to remove anything that may be dangerous. 

High probability of cancellation of children’s races. The decision to hold or cancel them will be made immediately before the start of the children’s races based on the actual weather conditions at that time.

3rd level of danger – wind with a force of 11 meters per second and more – a collegial decision to hold or cancel the Race will be made.

The committee in charge of making this decision consists of Dmytro Chernitskyi, Director of the NGO “Run Ukraine,” Ivan Tretiakov, Project Manager, and a representative of the SES in the region.

In case of an air raid warning, the Race is stopped. The Race will be resumed once the air raid warning is lifted (but in any case, only during the daylight hours).

Taking into account that the Race is held during the period of martial law throughout the territory of Ukraine, in the event of the announcement of the signal “Air raid in the city of Lviv,” the event will be suspended, the program of the event and the schedule of starts will be changed, and all participants must strictly comply with the requirements of the representatives of the Organizing Committee, must leave the territory of the event and go to the shelters, which are appropriately marked on the route map. After the signal “All sirens clear in the city of Lviv,” representatives of the Organizing Committee will make a decision on the possibility of continuing the event on the spot. The decision of the Organizing Committee and the updated Program of the Event will be announced to the participants within 10 minutes of the signal “All sirens clear in the city of Lviv.”

In this case, the event will be suspended, and changes will be made to the race program and the start schedule. All participants must strictly comply with the requirements of the representatives of the Organizing Committee. The participants must leave the territory of the event and go to the shelters, which are appropriately marked on the route map.

After the signal “All sirens clear in the city of Lviv,” representatives of the Organizing Committee will make a decision on the possibility of continuing the event on the spot.

The decision of the Organizing Committee and the updated Program of the Event will be announced to the participants within 30 minutes from the moment of the signal “All sirens clear in the city of Lviv.”

At the same time, the Contractor’s Services are not considered not provided, provided in poor quality or late, and no penalties are imposed on the Contractor due to the above circumstances, and the Contractor is not responsible for the termination/cancellation/postponement of the event.”

Participants may be admitted to the Race provided proper and timely registration.

Registration only is possible online on the organizer’s website https://lvivhalfmarathon.org/ 

Online registration of participants is open from July 13, 2023, through September 02, 2023 (provided free slots are available).

There will be no registration on the day of the Race, September 3, 2023.

The Race Organizer reserves the right to suspend or close registration without warning upon reaching the limit of participants.

A participant is registered once the application is filled in and the registration fee is paid.

The registration fee paid by a participant is non-refundable under any circumstances, including but not limited to if a participant is unable to participate in the Race, cannot finish the course of choice, cannot finish the course within the set time limit, or if the participant is disqualified or the Race is canceled due to the unexpected consequences of COVID-19 pandemic or force majeure circumstances.

A participant’s registration is annulled if the participant provides the wrong information upon registration. If the registration is annulled, the registration fee is not refunded.

A paid registration may not be canceled, and the entry fee may not be refunded.

A participant may request the starter pack to be mailed within 3 days before the race using the services of “Nova Poshta” services. This is a paid service and may be ordered at registration.

The owner of the starter’s pack will receive an SMS code from the organizer to confirm permission for the third person to pick up the package. If the code matches, the applicant receives the Starter package and must hand it over to the Owner.

The entry fee for the 21 km course (race bib numbers 21 000 – 21 099) is 950 UAH.

The entry fee for the 21 km course (race bib numbers 21 100 – 21 499) is 1250 UAH.

The entry fee for the 21 km course (race bib numbers 21 500+) is 1450 UAH.

The entry fee for the «Lviv Unbroken Half Marathon | 5 km»  course (race bib numbers 5 000 – 5 099) is 700 UAH.

The entry fee for the «Lviv Unbroken Half Marathon | 5 km»  course (race bib numbers 5 100+) is 950 UAH.

The entry fee for the «Lviv Unbroken Half Marathon | Unbroken Mile»  course (race bib numbers 1000+) is 450 UAH.

Participation on the courses of 300/500/1000 m is free of charge. The overall limit of participants in children’s races is 100 people.

The entry fee does not include the bank transfer fee.

The race participants pay the entry fee using an electronic payment system on the organizer’s website: https://runukraine.org

Registration discounts.

Free registration is available to servicemen on all courses. There is a total of 50 free registration slots.

If a limit on free registrations is reached, there is a 30% discount on the basic registration fee available to all servicemen.

A 30% discount on registration is given to the following categories of participants:

• Combatants and war participants;
• Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Territorial Defense
• Pensioners (men and women aged 60 and older)

There is no donation to the charity cause from discounted registration.

The participant must submit an individual application by writing a letter to [email protected], indicating “Special category” in the subject line.

When applying, please, provide documents according to your preferential category: a copy of your passport, pension certificate/combatant certificate/certificate of a person with a disability.

If it is found that the participant does not match the declared special category, the registration is canceled without any compensation from the Race Organizer.

IT IS POSSIBLE TO RECEIVE A FREE OR DISCOUNTED STARTER PACK UPON PRESENTATION OF THE ORIGINAL COPY OF THE PENSION CERTIFICATE, COMBATANT CERTIFICATE, CERTIFICATE OF A PERSON WITH A DISABILITY, OR INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSON’S CERTIFICATE.

The participant must pick up his/her starter’s package on the designated distribution date. Starter’s package ownership rights are transferred to the participant on the distribution date, regardless of their presence or absence. In case of a no-show, the Organizers take on the responsibility of preserving the goods for one calendar month starting from the date of the Race. During this month, the participant can obtain it directly from the Organizers or arrange to have it delivered by courier at their own expense. After one calendar month from the date of the Race is over, the Organizers withdraw any liability for the security of the product and become entitled to dispose of it at any moment.

Participants are to pick up starter packs in person upon presenting the starting letter and ID.

Participants that failed to join the Race can obtain their starter’s package within 30 calendar days after the competition at the Organizer’s office, having previously sent a notification about their intention to do so by email: [email protected]. They can also request to have it delivered to a specified address.

Delivery of starter packs is done at the expense of the participant. If possible, the Organizer arranges for partners to provide free delivery.

Please, notice:

• Participants who participate in wheelchairs or use other mechanical means during the race are not eligible for awards in absolute or age groups on any course.
