Dear runner friends!
Due to the pandemic of COVID-19, Run Ukraine has made a decision to hold events of the Under Armour Ukrainian Majors Running League in the online format.
We kept postponing this decision for a long time, hoping that the circumstances would change, the incidence would decrease, and holding mass events would become safe for the participants. We did not sit still: we were constantly consulting with experts, negotiating with the city authorities, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Our team was checking out all possible options to hold our events “live” as planned. However, unfortunately there will be no offline events this year.
The pandemic continues, hundreds of new cases are recorded in Ukraine every day, and it is very difficult to predict what the fall season may be like. It has already been decided that many of the world’s running events, including major marathons, would not take place this year.
The Lviv Half Marathon, which was to open the Running League season on August 23, is one month away. We cannot promise to hold it offline and cancel the event at the last minute. We are not willing to take the risk at the expense of you, the runners, and your loved ones by holding a mass sports event in the midst of a pandemic and thus contribute to the spread of the life-threatening virus.
However, we also can’t simply give in to the circumstances and give up on running, because we are runners. That is why in 2020 the Ukrainian Majors Running League will be held online and will include 5 running events:
- August 22-23, 2020 – 5th MOLOKIYA LVIV HALF MARATHON
- September 19-20, 2020 – 10th WORK.UA KYIV HALF MARATHON
- October 10-11, 2020 – 5th TAVRIA V ODESA HALF MARATHON
- October 31 – November 1, 2020 – 11th WIZZ AIR KYIV CITY MARATHON
- November 21-22, 2020 – 5th INTERPIPE DNIPRO HALF MARATHON
The 1st RUN UKRAINE KHARKIV HALF MARATHON and the 4th ZAPORIZHSTAL HALF MARATHON will not be held in 2020.
Each runner registered for the League events in 2020 will be provided by Run Ukraine with several options for further action, so the participants will be able to choose the most optimal solutions for themselves.
Participation in the online format of the League will be cheaper than offline. We will reimburse previously registered participants and credit the cost difference to the Run Ukraine cashback account.
The start package for the online events of the League 2020 will include the key attributes of the event.
The runners who participate in all 5 events of the Running League in 2020 will be awarded the 6th medal as League finishers, as was the initial plan.
This running season has turned out to be a difficult one for each one of us. We truly thank you for your understanding and support. We thank you for staying with us, even in this difficult time, united by the love of running. Run Ukraine will make every effort to bring you bright memories of the Running League 2020.

Details of the transfer of the Under Armour Ukrainian Majors Running League 2020 into online format:
The League includes 5 running events which are held online:
- August 22-23, 2020 – 5th MOLOKIYA LVIV HALF MARATHON
- September 19-20, 2020 – 10th WORK.UA KYIV HALF MARATHON
- October 10-11, 2020 – 5th TAVRIA V ODESA HALF MARATHON
- October 31 – November 1, 2020 – 11th WIZZ AIR KYIV CITY MARATHON
- November 21-22, 2020 – 5th INTERPIPE DNIPRO HALF MARATHON
The 1st RUN UKRAINE KHARKIV HALF MARATHON and the 4th ZAPORIZHSTAL HALF MARATHON will not be held in 2020.
Available courses: 4.2 km, 10 km, 21.0975 km, 42.195 km (only within 11th WIZZ AIR KYIV CITY MARATHON), team races. There will be no relay and children’s races. All participants who registered for relay races will be transferred to individual courses of the appropriate distance.
Finishers of each event get medals that are mailed along with the start packages. Participants also get online diplomas with their finishing time provided timely submittance of proof of overcoming the chosen course.
There will be no winners determined for individual events as well as the League.
Participants who participate in all League events (courses of 10 km, 21 km, 42 km) will get a League finisher medal, which will be mailed along with the medal for the last stage of the League.
The registration fee is the same for all events and courses: for members of the NGO Run Ukraine – 480 UAH, basic cost – 580 UAH. For participants who registered for the events of League 2020 earlier, the cost difference will be reimbursed to the Run Ukraine cashback account.
Opportunities for participants who were registered for the League events in 2020:
- Individual participants:
- You can transfer your registration to any League event in 2021 or 2022
- You can transfer the cost of registration to the Run Ukraine cashback account
- You can transfer your registration to the online format of the same event and the same course (the difference between the amount paid and the cost of the online event will be credited to the Run Ukraine cashback account)
- Participants registered for the 1st RUN UKRAINE KHARKIV HALF MARATHON and the 4th ZAPORIZHSTAL HALF MARATHON, besides the first two options, can transfer their registration to any online event of the League 2020 with the cost difference credited to the Run Ukraine cashback account.
- Participants who purchased registration for all events of the League 2020:
- You can transfer your registration for all events of the League to the season of 2021 or 2022
- You can transfer the cost of registration to the Run Ukraine cashback account
- You can run the League online this year, the cost difference as well as amounts for Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia half marathons will be credited to the Run Ukraine cashback account
- Participants who used social discounts and purchased discount registrations
- Your registration is automatically transferred to the online event
- Corporate participants:
- There are several options available to corporate participants. Please, contact your corporate manager to specify details
