Lviv will host a charity race “Winners” in support of ATO heroes

On October 29 Lviv will host a charity race “Winners” as part of the international running event GRAND PRIX LVIV HALF MARATHON 2017. 50% of the entry fee will be transferred to the purchase of athletic prosthesis for Olha Tarasevych.

The 25-year-old girl was working as a cook in the 72nd brigade. In May this year she was sleeping in Avdiiivka (Donetsk region) when the house she was sleeping in was shelled by the enemies. Olha was severely wounded. There was no hope of saving her leg – the shell fragments tore apart her tendons. They had to amputate her limb.

At first this courageous girl was using a wheelchair, then she got a prosthesis. Now she jokingly calls herself a “Terminator”. She not only lived through being severely wounded and successfully underwent rehabilitation, she kept supporting and encouraging guys who were with her in the hospital.

Olia went to a gym, started working out and dancing.

Of course, it is hard to live with this, to walk. The first days I would look at dancing girls and at my leg and the tears would come to my eyes“, – says Olha. However, the girl does not give up and goes on. She believes that sport and dances are the best rehabilitation and she dreams about having an athletic leg prosthesis which would enable her do sports professionally and safely.

Anyone can help make the dream of this fragile defender of Ukraine come true by joining the fundraiser and participating in the charity race “Winners” dedicated to the heroes of the “Winners” project by TSN multimedia project on “1+1” channel. The goal of the project is physical and psychological rehabilitation of ATO veterans and development of athletic prosthesis. Similar events have been taking place throughout the year in Kyiv, Dnipro and Odesa within Run Ukraine Running League 2017.
